Soybean Variety Trials 2016

Yield were a mixed bag in Virginia this year.  A brief drought during pod or seed filling was the main reason for lower yields.  In some locations, early varieties avoided a late-season drought; in other locations, later varieties waited on the rain.   In the OVT, yields varied greatly with maturity group and location and between maturity group within location; however, variability within an experiment was relatively small.  Regardless, we saw some very good yields in several locations, depending on maturity.
